Anthony Righi

MBA, AIF®, CFP® — Founding Partner

Background & Experience

Anthony Righi’s career in financial services began in the branch system of Comerica Bank, where he worked directly with the public before moving into an analyst role in Consumer Credit Administration. In 1999, with a three-month-old at home and the dot-com bubble on the horizon,  he left the corporate world to establish himself as an independent advisor. What followed was nearly a decade in direct advisory roles across multiple firms, building the expertise and the conviction that would eventually lead him to build something of his own.

In 2011, Anthony purchased the practice of a retiring financial planner and formally established what is now Artisan Capital Management. He holds the CFP® and AIF® designations, an MBA in Finance from Wayne State University, and a BSBA in Marketing and Finance from Lawrence Technological University. In the years since founding the firm, he has grown it from a single Michigan office into a multi-state operation serving clients from Michigan to the Carolinas and nationally, and he shows no signs of slowing down.

Approach & Philosophy

Anthony’s deepest expertise is retirement income planning: the technical work of building sustainable income strategies, and the coaching work of helping clients navigate the emotional weight of leaving a career behind. He believes that financial planning lives at the intersection of numbers and psychology; that knowing what the right decision is matters far less than knowing how to help someone actually make it. That blend of financial rigor and genuine human presence is what he has built his practice around for over three decades.

He believes strongly in preparing clients for volatility long before it arrives. When markets are down and a client calls, Anthony’s first move is always to listen and acknowledge the discomfort rather than rush past it. Then he pulls up the plan and shows them why their long-term goals are still intact. His ideal client is someone who values collaboration: who asks questions, challenges ideas, and engages with their own financial picture as a full partner in the process.

Personal

Anthony is a private pilot and owns his own airplane, logging flights as often as the weather allows, ideally at sunset. He is an avid golfer, a devoted gym-goer, and walks his Golden Retriever Luna with the same regularity most people schedule meetings. He plays acoustic guitar and spent decades as a volunteer musician and ensemble leader at his church. He is self-described as someone who is comfortable in solitude and is perfectly content working alone for hours.  However, he loves spending time with family and friends and enjoying the company of others.
